Our story begins in 1955…
Hauser Rental Service was formed and incorporated. A commercial space was leased on Magnolia Street in the basement of Andrews Pharmacy. Over the next ten years, the company added more chairs, dishes, tables, linens and a few more lawn and garden tools.
As the company grew, it continued to lease more adjoining basement space. By the late 1960’s, there were no basements left for expansion. New land was purchased on Stratford Road and a 16,000 square foot showroom/warehouse was built in 1970.
With the extra space, Mr. Hauser branched out into furniture rental and eventually had several rental locations up the Eastern seaboard. Over the next fifteen years, Hauser continued its growth in furniture, party and tool rental. By the late 1980’s, space had again become a problem. In 1989, two divisions, furniture and tools, were moved into separate facilities. The satellite furniture locations were closed and all furniture moved to the new location.
By the early 1990’s, special event rentals had become the major push of Hauser Rental. Adding large inventories of tents and the buyout of a local tent rental company gave Hauser Rental the muscle it needed to go after all the major golf tournaments and large events in the area. The addition of all these new tents prompted the need for more space once again. In 1998, the special events division was conceived and moved to a 20,000 square foot venue of its own.
Today, Hauser Rental Service operates to serve the special event and party industry only. We phased out of our tool and equipment division in 2013 and evolved in other areas specific to party and events, such as an inhouse laundry facility with 136 inch press for all of our linens and tent lining fabrics. It is housed at our previous Vest Mill Road tool division and still provides propane refill for local businesses and individuals along with contracted truck rentals.
